Vivien YUI is a Partner in both the Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions and the Corporate Governance & Compliance Practice.

Her main practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, private equity, general corporate and commercial work.

Vivien practises general corporate law, with an emphasis on representing private equity investments, especially in biotechnology and biomedical companies. Vivien has acted for Combinature BioPharm, a German company, in its cross-border merger with MerLion Pharmaceuticals, a Singapore company and Athelas, a Swiss company, and her clients include Bio*One Capital, the dedicated biomedical sciences investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board and Asia Pacific Pharmaceuticals, a joint venture between Interpharma, Quintiles and Temasek Holdings. She has also acted for 3i in numerous private equity transactions in the region.

Other transactions which Vivien has been involved in include acting as Singapore law counsel to Encore International Ltd in their divestiture of shares in PT Medco Energi Internasional to Mitsubishi Corporation; Citigroup in connection with the worldwide sale of Citigroup’s asset management business to Legg Mason; Menlo Worldwide LLC in the purchase of the entire shareholding of Cougar Holdings from Cougar Logistics Corporation; and CVC Capital Partners in their acquisition of shares in the Techpac Group from Hagemayer.

Vivien is also part of the Firm’s Corporate Governance & Compliance Practice and advises companies listed on the Singapore stock exchange on their regulatory and compliance obligations. She also advises many Singapore listed companies on their investments in the region, especially in the People’s Republic of China. She is also well versed in regulatory issues for setting up operations in Singapore, including immigration and employment related matters and her clients include UBS and Ashmore Group.

Vivien graduated from the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore Bar.
