CHAN Sing Yee is a Partner in the Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.
Her main practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, corporate finance and general corporate law.
Matters of significance which Sing Yee has been involved in includes acting for Macquarie Group Limited, the financial adviser to British telecom company BT Group in its acquisition of Singapore IT firm Frontline by way of scheme of arrangement; Raffles Education Corporation ("REC") in the proposals by REC to take Hartford Education Corporation Limited ("HEC") and China Education Limited ("CEL") private via (i) a voluntary delisting proposal by HEC and (ii) a scheme of amalgamation by CEL; and Sincere Watch Limited in a pre-conditional voluntary general offer made by Hong Kong-based watch maker and retailer Peace Mark (Holdings) Limited to acquire all of the issued ordinary shares in the capital of Sincere Watch Limited for a consideration of approximately S$530 million. She has also acted for Wachovia Securities in relation to its joint venture through its subsidiary, Wachovia Development Corporation, with City Developments Limited ("CDL") through its subsidiary, City Venture Properties Pte Ltd, on a 60:40 basis.
Sing Yee graduated from National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore Bar.
