Raymond TONG heads the Equity Capital Markets Practice.

His main practice areas are equity capital markets, corporate finance, takeovers, corporate restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, general corporate and commercial work and venture capital.

Raymond has acted for both issuers and underwriters in fund raising activities on the Singapore Exchange including First Resources Limited, one of the largest private sector producers of crude palm oil in Indonesia; China New Town Development Company Limited, first private PRC township developer listed on the SGX; Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited, first Thai drilling and sub-sea engineering services company to list on the SGX; MacarthurCook Industrial REIT, the first SGX listed REIT that is initiated by an Australian specialist real estate investment manager - MacarthurCook Limited; Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) Ltd, the the largest IPO from China to ever list on the SGX and the largest offering in 2007; STX Pan Ocean, the first Korean company to list on the SGX; Straits Asia Resources Limited; Banyan Tree Holdings Limited.

Raymond graduated from the University of Nottingham and was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple). He was called to the Singapore Bar. He is described by Who’s Who Legal - Singapore 2008 as "one of the leading equity capital market lawyers in Singapore".

He co-authored the Singapore Chapter in PLC Cross-border Handbook: Capital Markets 2007/08, PLC Cross-border Handbook: Equity Capital Markets 2006/07, authored a chapter on "Setting Up Business in Singapore" published in The Asian Business Handbook (1998) and co-authored a chapter on "The Redeemable Convertible Preference Share as an Instrument for Investment" published in the Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity 2002 Handbook.
