Mark CHOY, Partner

Mark CHOY is a Partner in the Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.

His main practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, general corporate and commercial work.

Transactions of significance which Mark has been involved in include acting for Lippo Realty in the sale and purchase of the entire issued and paid up capital in Granbury Holdings Limited, a BVI company which owns 11 subsidiaries, each of which in turn owns properties in Singapore; Mr Ong Beng Seng and initially Lushington Entertainment Pte Ltd on promoting the Formula One race in Singapore. The firm negotiated facilitation agreement with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in relation to the support (including funding) of the Singapore Government for the race, and advised on the Race Promotion Contract that secures the rights to host the Formula One event in Singapore.

Mark has recently acted for Invida Pharmaceutical Holdings Pte. Ltd. in its acquisition of the Asia-Pacific operations of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, including the current licensing rights and commercial operations for pharmaceutical products currently marketed by Valeant Pharmaceutricals International in 12 Asian markets. He also advised Kim Eng Holdings Limited ("Kim Eng Holdings") in the approximately S$166 million voluntary conditional cash partial offer by Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Co., Ltd for 11 percent of the issued ordinary shares in the share capital of Kim Eng Holdings. The partial offer values Kim Eng Holdings at approximately S$1.509 billion. He has also acted for Parkway Holdings Limited ("PHL"), in its acquisition of a 60 per cent stake in the World Link chain of clinics operating in Shanghai, PRC, for over US$43 million, via the acquisition from Hong Kong incorporated WorldLink Medical Systems Limited, of the entire issued share capital of Medical Resources International Pte. Ltd by PHL's wholly-owned subsidiary Parkway Group Healthcare Pte. Ltd. His experience also includes acting as legal adviser to the shareholders of Hup Soon Global in the reverse takeover of Twinwood Engineering Limited by Hup Soon Global Pte. Ltd, and Seletar Investments Pte Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings, in respect of the sale of its shares in Cosco Corporation (Singapore) Limited. to SembCorp Marine Limited for a total consideration of approximately S$120.34 million.

Mark graduated from the University of Nottingham and was admitted to the Singapore Bar.
