Corporate Profile

Jenny TSIN, Partner

Jenny TSIN is a Partner in both the Commercial & Corporate Litigation Practice and the Corporate Governance & Compliance Practice.

Her main practice areas are shareholder disputes, employment & labour law, competition law and defamation law.

Matters of significance which Jenny has been involved in include acting in a shareholders dispute between majority and minority shareholders of a group of companies with listed entities in Malaysia and Hong Kong; a major garment manufacturer in the recovery of loans amounting to over S$5 million to its former director; acting in a claim for passing off involving leading parties in the leisure and hospitality industry; acting in a defamation dispute involving a leading accounting firm; acting in an employment dispute between a leading accounting firm and a senior employee; advising multinational companies on 'white collar crimes'; and acting for the Land Transport Authority of Singapore ("LTA") in respect of an alleged copyright infringement matter brought by Octopus Cards Limited ("Octopus"). This claim had potential significant implications on the public transport system in Singapore. If Octopus had succeeded, millions of Singaporeans would have been affected as the use of the EZ Link card would likely have to be discontinued.

Jenny's experience also includes acting for various parties in an on-going international arbitration involving an investment in South African mines and acting for a consortium of investors to defend against a winding up application of the joint venture company brought by a joint venture partner on 'just and equitable grounds'.

Apart from being a litigator, Jenny has experience serving as counsel, having been seconded from WongPartnership to a leading multinational food and beverage company.

She also volunteers her time with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme, providing pro bono legal representation to the needy.

Before joining WongPartnership, Jenny served as State Counsel and Deputy Public Prosecutor with the Attorney General's Chambers between 1998 and 2000. She graduated from the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore Bar.
