Elaine CHAN is a Partner in the Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, the Asset Management & Funds Practice and the Corporate Governance & Compliance Practice.

Her main practice areas are corporate and commercial transactions, securities advisory, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and asset management.

Transactions of significance which Elaine has been involved in include acting for Tokyo Stock Exchange in its acquisition of 53,051,000 shares in Singapore Exchange Limited ("SGX") comprising approximately 4.99 per cent of the issued share capital of SGX; she was also involved as the Singapore counsel to Nikko Cordial Corporation advising on regulatory matters relating to its Singapore subsidiaries Nikko Asset Management and Nikko Merchant arising from the tender offer by Citigroup Japan Investments LLC for the shares of the Nikko Cordial Corporation in Japan.

Elaine's experience also involves acting for various listed companies such as MobileOne Limited in its S$115 million capital reduction exercise; and Sunningdale Precision Industries Limited in its merger with Tech Group Asia Ltd by way of a scheme of arrangement.

Elaine graduated from the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore Bar.
